Meet Zeko
I am 9 yours old. I am from Florida. But I live at the Father Walter Memorial Child Care Center in Montgomery, Alabama because I have cerebral palsy. All of my friends here are challenged. I got like this because I did not get enough oxygen to my brain. I know God made me this way for a reason and I am not unhappy.
II am happy because I get to live with 53 other kids in this very special place. Most of us don't have families who come to see us. But I have two good friends here at Father Walters; Mickey and Emily. Mickey has lived here his whole life. He is 19. Mickey has cerebral palsy like me. He gives me hope that I can live as long as he has. Emily is 4 and is new just like me. Emily is deaf and blind because she was hurt when she was a tiny baby. I like to spend time with her laughing and talking.
I am lucky because I get to go to school. Emily has to go to the school here at Father Walters because she is too fragile. Our life here is fun and everyone takes good care of us. This is our home. Without it we would have nowhere to go.
We want to always live here, but we need your help. Father Walter Memorial Child Care Center is one of only two places in this part of the country that can give kids like me 24 hour personalized care. They love us here ans we love them.
Please become part of my special family.
Love,
Zeko
