The 2018 Resurrection Collegiate Volunteer Program continues, and we have had a great week with our second and third groups of students from Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and Gonzaga University in Spokane, Washington.
The Gonzaga University group is comprised of staff adviser Sasha Gibson, student leaders Callen Aten and Rebecca Dunne, and participants Lauren Balerud, Megan Ching, Nia Fernandez, Kaeli Flores, Madeline Estergard Hensleigh, Sophie Marks, Brittney Murray, and Madison Schultz.
The Marquette University group is comprised of student leaders Katie Berlin and Brian Martindale and participants Rachel Beilfuss, John Eckert, Alyssa Goodwillie, Anne Marie Gunn, Mia Haseeb, Parker Lawson, Kate Morris, and Kayla Wolfrum.
During their week at Resurrection, the collegiate students have had the opportunity to assist with logistics and processes related to the Mission’s core programs while being exposed to local figures and organizations dedicated to service through civil rights and social justice. As always, the week will culminate this evening in a civil rights and social justice-focused dinner, allowing the students the opportunity to gather in fellowship and reflect on their week here in Montgomery.
In addition to the student groups from Marquette and Gonzaga, Resurrection also welcomes a group of high school students from Belmont Hill School of Belmont, Massachusetts. The group is comprised of chaperones Donna David, Caleb Collins, Cynthia Richardson, and Marquis Jamison, and of students Bryce Anderson, Devon Anderson, Hunter Anderson, Tim Brown, Liam Durbin, Peter Fiumara, Nolan Henehan, Liam Horkan, Howard Huang, Michael John, Davis Lambert, Kale Mack, Chris Milmoe, Dan Milmoe, Ted Morrow, Kevin O’Neill, Kole Osinubi, Quinn Peck, Abraham Tolkoff, Ben Wood, and Salman Yonis.
The high schoolers have also had the opportunity to explore the cultural sights and landmarks of Montgomery and nearby Selma while providing service to the Sheridan Heights community.
